The photographs on this blog are photos I have taken while taking part in an online workshop and others while I am out and about. Sometimes I go out looking for a particular image but capture something completly different, these are some of my favourite shots.
I love a photo challenge so am also taking part in a daily photo challenge over on Her space My space and adding the photos here on my Blog.

Top five

Each week fifteen photos are shortlisted then narrowed down to five . This week my lamp post was chosen , It's great encouragement to think someone likes your photos, there were fantastic pics to choose from too.

Texture

This week I am out and about looking for texture for the workshop, here is what I have found so far.

Crusty,soft,sharp,grainy, fluffy and rough.

Oscar Wilde

Oscar Wilde memorial statue, Merrion Square ,Dublin

After looking in here at my blog Kate M commented on the Craftsupplies forum that on this Oscar Wild statue one side of his face has a happy expression the other a sad expression I hadn't heard of this before so off I headed ( Like a woman with a mission ) LOL armed with the camera and the photos say it all. Thanks Kate =0)

I love all the detail in the clothes especially the shoes

Who is she escaping from ?

This always makes me smile, Look at the figure climbing the building in the photo on the left ,and right a closer look, It is a building close to where I live, I wonder who she is escaping from ? (Answers on a postcard )LOL

Looking for shape

I have always loved this mermaid and only thought today to photograph it , It is in a very built up area so it is difficult to get a clear uncluttered image. But I did find a gap in a buildings and here is the result, She is very tall so I couldn't get the full image at this angle.

As you can see in this photo the mermaid is surrounded by tall buildings and it is nearly impossible to get a clear background.

Playing with light

Another photo effect, achieved by metering the light .

Art work in my local park.

These three show how light effects your photos, left was a normal auto shot, then I took a meter reading from a dark subject ( middle photo ) and right I took a reading from the sky. Three totally different results.

The same lamp ,three different angles
